Doggy Swim at EP Tom Sawyer Park
Did you know that poodles were bred to be water retrievers? True story. Know that funny haircuts poodles have when they're show dogs? It's quite the utilitarian cut. The puff balls of hair around the knees and ankles keep the joints warm, same thing for all the hair on the torso. The legs are shaved clean to allow for easier swimming so the dogs could swim out into ponds to retrieve the fowl shot by hunters. I only tell you this because I have a miniature poodle who freaking hates water. Rain, bath, swimming pools, the whole bit. You want something retrieved from the water? Get it yourself.
If your dog actually likes the water, like most dogs do, then you need to take her to the Doggy Swim at EP Tom Sawyer Park.
Even our canine friends need a chance to show off their swimming skills! E.P. "Tom Sawyer" is letting its Olympic size pool go to the dogs. This is a great opportunity to get your dog out of the house and take them for a swim. Your dog will think that they never had it so good.
