Jack O'Lantern Stroll & Bardstown Bound Made For A Good Friday Night
Looking for information about Impellizzeri's Pizza? It's here.
We headed over to the Jack O'Lantern Stroll at Bellarmine around 6:30. All of the carved pumpkins, the gigantic pumpkin pie and the Krispy Kreme dipping (great fun by the way) made for a lovely stroll around a small part of the beautiful Bellarmine campus.
Then we hoofed it up to Douglass Loop and stuck our heads in to the Deli at Douglas Loop. A cool sounding band (with a drummer in a penguin costume!) was playing but we weren't ready for dinner yet. We headed up Bardstown Road and hit just about every shop along the way. We wanted Cumberland Brews for dinner (great jerk chicken wings) but the hour wait for a table sent us on our way for more shopping. We ended up have really great pizza at Impellizeri's at an outdoor table. Our waitress seemed to have wanted all of her customers to go away but the food was so good and we and all the other people on the patio were having such a good night and such a good time it didn't matter. That was the first Impellizeri's pizza I've had since many years ago when they were up by Woodbourne Avenue. It was much, much better than I remembered it being.
A vanilla cappuccino with really excellent foam from the Heine Bros. at Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway capped the night. It was perfectly festive evening in the Highlands. I hope you were out enjoying it too.
