Sugar Free Treats at Sweet Surrender & Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen

| | Comments (2) | Food
My partner's father is diabetic so all sweets and baked goods for him need to be of the sugar free variety. I've got a Splenda Pumpkin Pie in the works for him this weekend but humans can't live on pumpkin pie alone. We need other yummy pies as well. My baking dance card is pretty well filled up (ask me later how my peanut butter cookies and bourbon pecan tart turned out) though so I did a little calling around looking for some other sugar free treats. I found a couple good options.

Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen offers sugar free apple and cherry pies.

sslogo.jpgSweet Surrender has three kinds of sugar free pies. Apple, chocolate cream and coconut cream.

I'm a bit disappointed that neither shop offered a seasonal sugar free offering but since I'm making a sugar free pumpkin pie our family is covered in that area. I feel for other people though, particularly those with restrictive diets without resident bakers in the family. Sweet Surrender's cream pies are a nice change from the usual sugar free fruit pie varieties so I definitely have to give them credit for that.

Both Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen and Sweet Surrender make absolutely amazing desserts so I'm wishing out loud that they'll add some more sugar free offerings to their lineup next holiday season so diabetics can enjoy more of the yumminess.

That's great news Jessica. Thanks so much for letting us know that you have other sugar free options and will be introducing even more in January. My partner's father will be looking forward to trying more of your sugar free offerings.
