The Brown Hotel Welcomes the Holidays with Teddy Bear Tea

| | Comments (0) | Downtown , Entertainment , Food
Being childless myself this event isn't my, pardon the oh so obvious pun, cup of tea but I imagine it definitely will be for lots of other folks.

Santa Claus and Teddy Bear are heading to The Brown Hotel Lobby for some special events on Saturday, December 8 and December 15. From 2 to 4 p.m., kids can hang out with Teddy Bear and eat gourmet treats prepared by chef Laurent Géroli and the Brown Hotel culinary team. Santa will be telling stories and handing out teddy bear toys. Adults can relax with high tea and delicious snacks while the children play. The cost for each event is $30 for adults, $20 for kids and includes a toy for each child. Tax and gratuity are additional. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Brown Hotel will donate $10 per child back to the Home of the Innocents and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Seating for this event is limited and reservations are required. To save a seat for either day, call 502-583-1234 ext. 7108.

Forget waiting in lines to see Santa! Children will each get to spend quality time with the holiday season’s most loved character. During story time, kids can munch on sandwiches and sweet treats including peanut butter and jam, country ham sandwich with Wisconsin cheddar mayonnaise, hazelnut chocolate Nutella on brioche, chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies, double fudge chocolate cookies, mini raspberry tartlets and petit sable. A selection of hot chocolate, soy milk and chocolate milk will also be served.

Adults are also in for a treat as The Brown Hotel’s executive chef Géroli has prepared a menu of savory tea sandwiches and sweets. Tea sandwich choices include smoked salmon and crab with American caviar and dill; classic egg salad; cucumber sandwiches; and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus with grain mustard. Indulge in freshly baked scones served with Devonshire cream and preserves, tea breads, fruit tartlets and assorted miniature pastries.
