Weekend Events Roundup: November 30 - December 2, 2007
There is an embarrassment of riches in terms of things to do in Louisville this weekend. Seriously, we should feel a tiny bit guilty that we live in such a great town with so many options. Only a tiny bit though. Now dig in and plan your weekend.
Friday November 30, 2007
Winterfair! a festival of very fine art and very fine crafts starts today and goes on tomorrow as well
Tonight at Headliners Peter, Bjorn & John are playing. I hear tickets for the show are still available. My friend Jason is going to think I really suck when he finds out I'm not going to this show. That's how good this Swedish band is.
The closing party for Decked Out at Derby City Espresso starts at 8PM. It's your last chance to see this really cool skateboard deck art exhibit. Remember there is also a free German beer tasting at the event.
Lexington band Petticoat, Petticoat is playing and Jenicca's is celebrating "Friday Night Lights"
Peter Searcy, The Trust and Shinerunners are closing out the Louisville Homegrown Music Series at 4th Street Live
What Would Jesus Buy opens today at Village 8
Meeting Resistance is screening this weekend at Baxter Avenue. Q&A with filmmakers after each showing
Saturday December 1, 2007
The Jefferson Memorial Forest Welcome Center is throwing a holiday open house
European Antiques Market is also throwing a holiday open house
Frankfort Avenue is having an Olde Tyme Christmas (don't forget the dog walk part!)
Opening of Caribbean Christmas at Chez Moi gallery
Have your pet photographed with Santa at Feeder's
The Good Folk Fest is taking over the Mellwood Arts Center
Stupid Factory Workers Party at American Pizza Company Inc.
Celtic Christmas Concert with Nora, Ben, & Eli and other bands
José González is playing a free in-store at ear X-tacy and then playing the 930 Listening Room
And of course, Bardstown Road Aglow
Sunday December 2, 2007
Bourbon Baroque plays St. Francis in the Fields
Studio2000 is having their silent auction and art sale
Free music by Squeeze-Bot at Derby City Espresso, 8PM-11PM
Awesome weekend lineup. Enjoy!
