inournature.jpgIn anticipation of the show December 1 at the 930 Listening Room the fine folks at Mute Records have provided Consuming Louisville with three copies of the new José González disc In Our Nature to give away.
This is the first of hopefully many, many contests and giveaways and I couldn't be more excited.

You can enter to win two ways: First, in the comments or via email, drop your favorite song lyric. José González is a brilliant songwriter so quoting good lyrics seems a fitting way to acquire some of his work. Your second option is
to list one thing you love about Louisville. Three winners will be randomly chosen from the entries.

You must use a real email address to enter so you can be contacted if you win.

To recap:

Either in the comments or by sending an email to info AT consuminglouisville.com list your favorite song lyric or one of your favorite things about Louisville. From the entries three people will be chosen at random to receive a copy of José González's new cd In Our Nature.

Deadline for entries is Sunday November 18 10AM Eastern (Louisville local) time.

Tongues will be twisted to the point where you'll lose track of your soul. Distorted pictures is all you deliver.
-All You Deliver

Oddly enough, I don't own the new CD yet.

Excellent lyric choice Jason. Good on you and thanks for playing.

Oddly enough, I don't own the cd either...
I'll go ahead an answer both questions.
First with what I love about Louisville.

Louisville has one of the friendliest communities I've ever seen. No matter where you go throughout the country, you'll always miss the word "thank you" or "excuse me" that is so frequently used on our city. People that visit here always mention how friendly Louisvillians are and a lot of times, we take that for granted. We could use some more turn signal usage on those roads though people.

Here is my choice for lyrics, rather haunting but it draws a picture in my mind and that's when I know I've found good songwriting.

"Walls grew dense and blocked out the sun.
Caving in everyone.

Darkness fell wiped out a once joyous tone.
Then famished, like possessed ended up eating their own."

-the nest (from In Our Nature)

Thanks for provoking though on my Friday morning!

Thanks for provoking thought on my Friday morning!

For me it'd have to be lyrics from the now-generic Heartbeats.

to call for hands of above
to lean on
wouldn't be good enough

What I love about Louisville....

The view of downtown at dusk from across the river. For me it is magical. One such photo of mine http://www.bryanpeabody.com/photoblog/?p=9.
