Last InKY Event of 2007 features Louisville Poet Nickole Brown
Nickole Brown is the author of Sister: a Novel-in-Poems,
published by Red Hen Press in 2007. A recipient of grants from the
Kentucky Foundation for Women and the Kentucky Arts Council, her work
has been featured in The Writer's Chronicle, Poets & Writers, Another Chicago Magazine, Diagram Magazine, 32 Poems, Mammoth Books' Sudden Stories anthology and the Starcherone Press anthology PP / FF. Her chapbook, mud, was published in 1996 by WhiteFields Press. She also co-edited the anthology, Air Fare: Stories, Poems, & Essays on Flight,
published in 2004. Nickole has worked at a nonprofit, independent,
literary press, Sarabande Books, for seven years as Director of
Marketing and Development

Norman "Buzz" Minnick was born and raised in Louisville. His poetry collection To Taste the Water won the First Series Award in Poetry from Mid-List Press and was published in 2007. He currently lives in Indianapolis and teaches at Butler University.Poet James Owens is the author of An Hour is the Doorway (Black Lawrence Press) and Frost Lights a Thin Flame (Mayapple Press). His poems, stories, translations, and book reviews have appeared in numerous journals, including Birmingham Poetry Review, Kennesaw Review, Tryst, The Harrow, and Language and Culture. He edited The Sow's Ear Poetry Review from 2001-2004. After working in journalism for many years and earning an MFA from the University of Alabama, Owens now lives with his wife and three children in La Porte, Ind.December's InKY will feature music by Louisville songwriter Jeff Shelton. Performing under his moniker the mack, Shelton creates a unique sound and lyrical prose have been compared to Nick Lowe, the Kinks, and Chocolate Genius.
