Cafe Lou Lou Coming to Douglass Loop

| | Comments (5) | Bardstown Road , Douglass Loop , Food , Highlands
Just read that headline over and over again and smile. That's right kids, Cafe Lou Lou is opening a second location and it's going to be in walking distance from my house. Isn't this a lovely, lovely day?

Dear Lou Lou-ers,

We are excited and pleased to announce the opening of an additional Cafe Lou Lou, located in the Douglass Loop, in the Highlands-Bardstown Road area, near the Heine Bros. We are hoping to open mid-August, if all the work crews show up on time, etc. We will have the same menu and here's the bonus, drum roll please, DELIVERY in a limited area. The new place has parking behind and across the street. There are metered parking spots in front of the store too.
In the meantime, come see us in St. Matthews...July 9 is our first birthday in this location. Can you believe how fast time flies???

Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Helen and Clay
I can see already that this is going to be a Sitar type situation. Meaning I'm going to want to eat there so much I have to walk there to at least partially negate such frequent eating out. No driving to Cafe Lou Lou in the Highlands for me and that's totally ok. This also means that I now know where nearly all my business lunches are going to be. Let me point out though that I'm always happy to have free meals and will even drive for them. So if it'd like to have a meeting with me at say, Proof, and you're buying I'll totally get in the car for that.

I know, it's terribly exciting isn't it?

I miss when they were in their Clifton location. I used to go there frequently, but the St. Matthews location lacks the charm that the old building at Frankfort and Pope had.

I actually never made it to their old location so I can't compare the charm. I don't like the strip mall location so much but since it's almost always packed I can definitely see that they needed a large space with plenty of parking.

Hopefully the new Douglass Loop location will be able to charm you John.
