Etsy Local: Louisville Crafters

| | Comments (7) | Art , Buy Local , Shopping
I don't know if everyone is familiar with Etsy so let me quote their about page for a second:

Etsy is an online marketplace for buying & selling all things handmade.

Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers.

Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice: Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.
Got it? I've bought everything from stationery and notebooks to earrings and bags from Etsy sellers. Normally I just type in what I'm looking for in general terms (notebooks, earrings, etc) or follow random links to find cool stuff. I didn't know until just the other day that you could search by area. Meaning you can search for crafters in your local area, say, like Louisville, Kentucky.

Such a search led me to some cool stuff.

paperfarrago sells really cool paper products (a deep and true love of mine) including really neat gift tags.

littleapplesauce has these wicked cool Green Lantern Returns earrings

qtips offers custom designed card sets which kick ass because they include cards, envelopes and envelope closure stickers.

HiFiDiva makes cool new stuff out of old records. She's currently got tote bags made from recycled records including Sinatra, Seger (!) and the Broadway production of Annie among others.

It's pretty awesome. My friend Margaret has a kick ass Etsy shop too but she's moving back to New Orleans soon so I didn't include her but everyone should check it out:

Don't forget that the location is typed in by the artist so you may have to search for "louisville", "Louisville, KY", or "Louisville, Kentucky" to find all of the artists in Louisville.

One of the artists missing from your search is carthyjewelry.etsy.com .

We love Etsy! And Louisville. It's a great community, we've found people from far away and in our own back yard.

I have a shirt by Art by Mags! It's the one with the fleur de lis that says "home". Guess where I got it?

That's too funny Jesse because, no lie, I'm wearing my copy of that shirt today.
