Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down at Skull Alley
I'm posting about this show for two reasons. First, BackseatSandbar.com is a friend of Consuming Louisville. Second, I got to say "Skull Alley" in the title to a post. How fun is that?
BackseatSandbar.com is proud to present Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down, live at Skull Alley on Monday, July 21st. Tickets are $7. Doors at 6:30. Music @ 7. Opening the night will be Louisville's own The Instruction and Thao's tourmates, the Tune-Yards.
Thao Nguyen's We Brave Bee Stings and All has received critical acclaim since it's release in January, garnering a 7.7 from Pitchfork. In the last few months, Thao has toured with Xiu Xiu, Rilo Kiley, Why?, Laura Veirs, Tune Yard. Perhaps the only Folk-Pop artist who can beat-box and hum simultaneously, Thao knows how to put on an incredible show.
