You Too Can Go to Zombie University

This is so freaking cool. Stage One is putting on a stage production adapted from George Romero's film Night of the Living Dead and you can be part of the zombie horde. Yes you!

Stage One: The Louisville Children's Theatre and DramaWorks, the Stage One theatre education program, are pleased to present an adaptation of George Romero's classic horror film Night of the Living Dead on stage at the Iroquois Amphitheater this October. In preparation for this production Stage One is creating an exciting new education project called Zombie University (Zombie U). Zombie U is a unique program designed to introduce beginning and first-time actors to the onstage experience through the combination of a basic acting class and participation in a professionally produced play.

Zombie University coursework will include sessions on ensemble training, basic acting technique, vocal production, creative movement, costume, and make-up design. The final project for Zombie U will include performing on one of two weekends as the "horde of zombies" in our professional production.

So, I get to be a zombie in a play?
Yep! The students enrolled in Zombie U will perform on one of two weekends as the "horde of zombies" that attack the remote farmhouse that serves as the primary location for the play.

Who can be a part of Zombie University?
Anyone over the age of 12 who already loves or wants to discover what the onstage experience is like is welcome to enroll in Zombie U. We want a diverse range of people on stage from all ages and backgrounds. How much does it cost?
Tuition for Zombie University is set at $50.00 per person. This covers tuition for the class, a Zombie University t-shirt and your very own textbook of The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead by Max Brooks.
So. Very. Awesome. I want all of you to go sign up to be zombies.
